Scientific specimen photography
Sharp from the tip of the eye spines to the last segment of the cerci.

Who is it for?
- Researchers who need figures for a paper or a species description.
- Collectors who want a photographic record of their specimens, for a catalogue, an insurance file or simply to show them.
- Museums and small institutions digitising part of their collection.
- Breeders and associations who need good images for talks, guides or outreach.
What you get
Focus-stacked images
Several shots merged into one, so the whole specimen is in focus, even under strong magnification.
Standard views
Dorsal, ventral and lateral habitus, head in frontal view and the diagnostic details you need, on a clean, neutral background, with scale when required.
Figure plates
If you wish, the images composed into plates ready for a journal, labelled A, B, C, following its guidelines.
High-resolution files
Delivered digitally, edited with care and without altering the morphology of the specimen.
How it works
- You tell me which specimens, which views and what the images are for.
- You send me the specimens, well packed (shipping is arranged by email), or we agree on another way to photograph them.
- I photograph them in the lab and prepare the images or plates.
- You receive the files, and the specimens back, carefully packed.
