Preparation, mounting & repair
Careful hands for fragile insects.

Who is it for?
- Collectors with dried or papered specimens waiting to be mounted.
- Owners of specimens damaged in transit or by time: loose legs, broken lobes or antennae.
- Museums and institutions that need specimens prepared or restored.
- Anyone who wants advice on keeping a collection safe from pests, damp and light.
What you get
Museum mounting
Relaxing, pinning and spreading: legs, wings and lobes in a natural, symmetric posture.
Repair
Reattachment of legs, wings, antennae and leaf-like lobes, and consolidation of fragile parts.
Preservation advice
Drying, labelling and long-term storage, so that specimens last for decades.
Respect for the specimen
The original structure is kept; nothing is replaced or invented.
How it works
- You send me photographs of the specimen and tell me what you need.
- I explain what can be done and send you instructions to pack it safely.
- I mount or repair it.
- You receive it back, carefully packed.
